Spring Break 2009

                                           Spring Break 2009

What a week of building relationships with the students. We started the week off right, with bible study on Monday night. We are studying about the Kingdom of God.  From the beginning when Christ came until the day when Christ returns. From Isaiah 35, 1Corinthians 15, and now in Romans 8.  There are about eight students that faithfully come each Monday night and I wish each one of you could come witness the hunger these students have for God's word. One of our guys is always asking Jack for a challenge for the week. Following the bible study we were off to the bowling alley. We are trying to teach these students, that have chosen to go deeper into God's word, to walk the talk. We teach them the importance of being Christ like at all times and at all places, you never know who is watching!  We saw a lot of  the students there at the bowling alley that come to Club Zion on Wednesday's but most of them choose not to come to bible study. A lot of them were asking questions about why we were there. It was good to see the students share.
Tuesday we all got together, 19 in all, to go to Cave Spring Baptist's Family Life Center. There were elementary, middle and high school students. This was the first time I had been able to take them to C.S.B.C and they enjoyed the basketball, dodge ball and game room.
Saturday night I was able to have two of our high school boys over to spend the night and go to the first worship hour at Cave Spring Baptist to hear Pastor Chip preach. Then we went to First Baptist. The boys were asked Monday night if they could come and speak to Jack's Sunday school class. They were happy to go and share what Acts 2 meant to them. One of our girls met us there at First Baptist Church. It was a wonderful time as these students shared their testimonies with this very large class. I felt like a proud parent as I listen to the hearts of these beautiful students. It is such a privilege to do life with these students. Pouring into them God's word and seeing the changes that are going on in their lives is truly a blessing. Pray for our future leaders that they will surrender their whole lives to Him as they grow into the young man and women He can use. 1Peter 5:2-4
