High School Winter Camp
We made it to Winter Camp. I say that to say it was all God’s doing, for we were short $3023.98 on Friday morning, the day we were to leave for camp. On that morning we received the money needed and more!
God is so good and He has taught us to trust Him in so many ways. We can make all the effort in trying to do it all in our own strength , but how would God receive the glory. George Mueller had never asked for money for his orphanage that he felt God leading him to open. He simply prayed to God for all his needs and God met each and everyone of them. Wow, what a way to increase your faith and trust God to provide for your needs. When George started out he wanted to prove that prayer was all he needed and that God would do His will in the orphanage and in His perfect timing. So he was determined not to ask anyone for the money, clothes or any other items needed. He would simply pray and wait on the Lord. It was not always an easy thing to do, but George trusted only on the Lord to provide. That’s how we have trusted God with our students that we took to camp, lots of prayer. He laid on the hearts of those that donated money. He has blessed us with wonderful volunteers that gave up their weekend (and sleep) to minister to these students. This group of students were amazing the way they shined for Christ with the way they encouraged each other and cared for one another. There was a lot of brokenness and tears when faced with the truth of Gods word by our speaker Sophia Cox. During one of her talks, she asked all the students to stand and after asking the questions if you have ever done this sit down. Very shortly all were sitting and at that moment they faced their sin and knew that they were guilty. It was so powerful and made us all realize how we need a Savior. At the end of camp, during the last talk, the students that prayed to receive Christ went forward and walked through a door on the stage to demonstrate the old self and then the new life that was in Christ. We had one girl walk through and I know that there were more. Praise Him! We will be setting up times to meet with these students and share with them the tools of growing in there walk with the Lord. I know that in our uncertain times, God is providing for us the money needed for camp and also a bus we needed. Praise the Lord for how He has proved over and over the power of prayer. He was with the early Christians and is ever so present for us today. “ And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.” Matthew 21:22
