Letter to our Partners

December 11, 2017

To the Partners of Acts 2 Ministry :

The Acts 2 Annual Thanksgiving Dinner was held on November 16th at First Baptist Church.  A total of 110 students, volunteers and support staff were served a dinner prepared by the students at Virginia Western Culinary School.  The guest speaker for the event was Wanick Fayette.

Wanick began to participate in the ministries of Acts 2 while he was in the third grade.  He accepted Christ while attending Kids Across America camp with other Acts 2 students.  Upon graduating from high school he was accepted as a student at Liberty University.  Through the Acts 2 Scholarship Program we were able to help Wanick with tuition.  He graduated last summer and is currently serving as an Associate Pastor in a church in Pennsylvania.

On September 20th, we requested that you pray for the Ministry as we enter into a transition period.  We have received an offer to meet at a local church within the city on a temporary basis. However, we need to find a permanent home for the Ministry.

Please continue praying that God will:

  1. Open a new Ministry Center that we can use to evangelize and inspire the lives of urban youth and their families with Biblical instruction, mentorship and discipleship as exemplified through the life of Christ,
  1. Move in the hearts for additional volunteers to work with the students,
  1. Provide staffing needed to support the Ministry, and
  1. Provide the financial support for the Ministry and future staff.

Join us as we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ during this Christmas season.

Thanks for your prayers and for being partners with Acts 2.

KAA Camp 2017

To the Supporters of Acts 2 Summer Camp:

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for providing support for the Acts 2 students to attend Summer Camp at Kids Across America (KAA). Your gifts not only blessed the students, it also blessed our hearts as leaders and volunteers as God provided all that was needed through your generous gifts.

On July 8th at 7:00 pm a bus load of students (44) and leaders (8) left Acts 2 Outreach Center for Branson, MO. KAA offers a foundational training ground for spiritual growth, loaded with learning experiences and in depth Bible studies that lift up Christ and challenge students by meeting them where they are.

It was an awesome time for both students and the leaders. The leaders learned so much about being disciple makers and following Christ. Below are testimonials from three students that went to camp:

         • KAA changed me. I feel like the chains that were on me are unleashed now. I live Jesus Christ unconditionally because of what He did for me and when you get that feeling of the Holy Spirit getting a hold of you it is amazing.

I live it and am glad that I got the chance to go to KAA. It changed my life. I feel so much better and I’m happier and stress free. It is just amazing.

         • It is my turn to change somebody else’s life and share His word that I have been sharing. Ask my sister. Since I got home I cannot stop talking about Jesus Christ.

         • I would not trade this life changing experience for the world.

During Cross Talk on Friday night, two students gave their life to Christ and 15 rededicated their lives.

Please pray for the leaders to be strong enough through Christ to walk alongside these students as two made decisions to follow Christ and many of them have truly decided to stop living a double life. We would like to see God glorified through the students and the decisions they have made at camp.

Thanks again for being partners in changing the lives of the students and leaders at Camp this year.

In Christ’s Service,

Students and Leaders of Acts 2 Ministry
