The Mission of The Acts 2 Ministry is to evangelize and inspire the lives of urban youth and their families with Biblical instruction, mentorship and discipleship as exemplified through the life of Jesus Christ. Investing in the Roanoke Valley youth and families today to create Christian leaders for tomorrow.

Vision

The Vision of The Acts 2 Ministry is to daily reach into the homes and hearts of the city, pointing the way to the saving grace of Jesus and the power of the cross, in order to see urban youth and their families’ lives transformed by the word of God.

Though Roanoke is far smaller than a mega city like Chicago or Los Angeles, our urban areas suffer from many of the same problems. We deal with prostitution, drug abuse, alcoholism, child abuse and neglect, unemployment, and rape. We even see the beginnings of a gang problem. Our inner city youth are crippled by crime and a lack of education.

Acts 2 is an urban ministry dedicated to the cause of Christ. Our work lies in creating a community of believers that transcends all racial and socio-economic barriers. We seek to do this by providing hope for the lost and hurting through the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ; by continuously being His “hands and feet". We pray that God will heal the deep wounds that lead to cycles of poverty, drugs, neglect and hate which are so prevalent in our neighborhoods. We believe that the only solution to these problems is Jesus Christ. He is our only hope and it is our purpose to help people meet Him.

Through these methods God is working significantly in the hearts of many people in the city and our prayer is that this is only the beginning.

Please pray for the students and families of Roanoke’s inner city. Pray that God would soften their hearts and that they would turn to Him. Please pray for God’s hand of protection on the students, volunteers, and staff.
